Sewing by hand-single thread-from proper direction to avoid tangling

Fri, 08/30/2013 - 19:39 - cyranois

Video seems to indicate that we should start to sew from the same end as we put the knot. Can that be right? How do I begin to sew from the end with the knot?? Please clarify. Thank you.

ease

Mon, 08/26/2013 - 06:38 - dwms

I have drafted the front and back bodice and the sleeve. There is no information given regarding ease, if there is any built-in {I think not} or how to add it in order to use the pattern block. I am pretty sure if you change the block to add ease you have to change several things on the block. Please tell me how to add ease so I can use the block. The only place ease has been mentioned so far is the sleeve. Thanks, dwms

Dirndle skirt

Thu, 07/11/2013 - 10:31 - veronica

Hi Nehzat, I made your dirndle skirt pattern following along with you, and I loved the finished product. It was fun and easy. I will be posting the pictures of it very soon!   I just watched the new video of the dress with gathered skirt ( t shirts ) I cant wait to try it, I'll have to dig out some t shirts this week. The dress looks so comfortable!  and timeless. (kinda reminds me of the 80's :)

Panel Dress material?

Sat, 06/15/2013 - 08:18 - clbeams

Thank you so much for your videos!  I have watched the panel dress videos several times, and made a test muslim that fits.  Now, I am ready to start with the real fabric?  I know you state the material you used is a wool blend, but could you be more specific?  What type of blend, possibly the manufacturer?  I love the fabric and am trying to get as close as I can to a match.  Many thanks for any help you can give!

Marking notches on bodice patterns

Mon, 05/13/2013 - 20:38 - jleuterman

I have viewed the video sequences for drafting the front and back bodice patterns.   I have the patterns drawn and am now trying to figure out where to mark the notches.   Did I miss something, was that in the videos?    --   if not can you proved details about were to mark the front and back bodice patterns?

Pattern drafting video

Fri, 03/15/2013 - 17:45 - melisande

I am working on drafting my back bodice pattern.  The line from the waistline to the bustline comes out shorter than my side seam line, so point X on the side seam line comes out higher than the bustline, making the armhole very small.  I have had this same problem in the past when using pattern drafting books.  I am very tall, 6' 1", does this change any of the formulas? Could that be the problem?
