 Hi

I just recently have been sewing easy garments from butterick and simplicity.  They all have 5/8 seam allowances.  I am sewing a top from New Look # 6816 for a top and the instructions say do 5/8 seam allowances, unless otherwise stated.  However just on the neckline of the pattern piece it says 3/8 seam allowance and nowhere else on the pattern does it say 3/8. Does this mean just do a 3/8 seam allowance on the neckline or does it mean a 3/8 seam allowance on the whole pattern peice.

Hi Yvettez,

It means only the neckline is 3/8" seam allowance the rest of the garment is 5/8" seam allowance.
