In this lesson you will learn how to alter a turtle-neck sweater into a boat neckline and embellish it using a crochet needle. Learn how to remove the neckline and shorten the sleeves into 3/4 length, how to hem and sew buttonhole (blanket) stitches around the edge of the new neckline and sleeves. Then, how to crochet chain stitches on the buttonhole stitches and use this as the base to embellish the boat neckline and the sleeve hem by crocheting picot stitches. This type of embellishment can also be done around armholes, collars, and the hemline of any garment, around table cloths, runners and curtains. |
