Hi Nehzat,
I've made a skirt from the block pattern you taught, but since I prefer a more modest style slit I struggled with changes when sewing it together, by copying the slit from another skirt. So I would like to know what changes should be made to the drafting portion of the process for different styles. The overlap slit for example, this is the one I copied from another skirt, but how do I draft it onto my block pattern. I believe there would be a difference in the way it is drafted. There is another style that I saw on vintage style clothing. I don't know what it is called, but it looks like an abutted slit from the outside, but when you walk and it opens up there is material behind it, (I believe it is called a godet) I would like to know how to draft that also. I like vintage sytle clothing, it looks so tailored and elegant, but it is more challenging. I sure would appreciate your knowledge and help with these.
Thank you, so very much
Carol
I vote for lessons on drafting a godet pattern as well!!!
Thank you, so very much, Nehzat for adding these to list for upcoming lessons. I so look forward to seeing these!!!
Thank you, again
Carol
Hi Nehzat,
I am currently working on {Panel dress making} video lesson. Would like to know if we could transfer the pattern on fabric using tracing wheel? Is it possible?
Thanks in advance.
Happy sewing!!
Best
Serah.
Dear Serah,
Yes you can transfer the pattern to your fabric using a tracing wheel.
Happy sewing,
Nehzat
When you pre-wash your fabric just remember to test your tracing paper (waxed) color or tracing pencil on the fabric. Once you have finished washing, drying and pressing you can see the results of your pattern marks tests.

Dear Carol,
I will add your request to our list for up coming lessons. I myself like vintage styles. The overlap and godet slits should have their own patterns. That's is why I will need to make separate lessons to explain them in detail.
Thanks,
Nehzat
