getting side seams on pants unpuckered

I have made elastic waist pants that have "puckered" down the side seams and inside seams. I pinned the fabric at close intervals so the fabric wouldn't slip, but it still "puckered" I used lightweight fabric, not silky, but close.

Dear pafar,

Please check the following, and see if it helps avoid the puckering along the seam lines.

Use a fine needle.

Make sure your thread is fine as well and smooth.

Make sure your needle is not blunt.

Lower the bobbin and or needle thread tensions.

If these changes do not help, pull along the seam lines from the front and back, as you sew by machine. Apply the same amount of pressure when pulling the fabric.
