Hi everyone,
I'am a sewer and quilter from NC, USA. I love to make clothes and I'm also involved in a prayer ministry where we make prayer quilts for sick people and have been involved with that for the past 10 years. I love this site and look forward to looking at all the videos. I watched the one on heming pants and found out I've been doing it wrong for all these years! I look forward to being a part of this sewing group.
Thanks,
Libby
Hello everyone! I have appreciated the step by step videos to remind me how to properly thread my serger. I purchased it a while back and have not had time to use it much. One of the reasons for my wanting to pull out my sewing machine and serger again is because I am about to have a grandaughter and the motivation to create again is back.
I have 2 questions about the serger.
How often does it need to be oiled?
How often does the cutter need to be sharpened?
Thanks!

congratulations Mary Margaret on your new Grandaughter! What wonderful memories you and she will create together. I still have the day gowns my Grandmother made for me ~ 60 years ago! I hope to copy them for my youngest cousin (and my Grandmother's favorite Grandchild) that is expecting her first child at 42!! Yes a shocker! any hoo~ here we go!
Dear Libby,
Welcome you our site and thanks for your feedback. I hope that you will be able to learn more trough the video lessons.
Happy sewing,
Nehzat
Hello Everyone, I'm a soso sewer and joined to improve my skills! I was looking at the video on sleeves in hopes of doing some alterations for my kids' clothes. Like their dad and me, they are built low to the ground. I have to say, I was a bit intimidated by the sleeve video. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!!!!
Dear Donna,
Welcome to our site. Like anything else, with time and practice you will become comfortable and be able to do things that may seem challenging at first.
Happy sewing,
Nehzat
Hi Libby! What part of NC are you in? I lived in Ayden, NC for a couple of years and graduated from Ayden-Grifton H.S. Ayden is the little town that borders Greenville where ECU is.
Anyway! I'm a beginner sewer and I'm looking forward to this page helping learn to sew. I've sewn a garment or two in my life...in fact, I made my prom dress (with the assistance of my Home Ec teacher) :-)
