Hello,
My question is about the front pants at (W) you say to measure & mark 3 cm from the side seam line, and at (T) you say to measure and mark 2.5 cm from the center front line. Why do we use these paticular numbers? Is this a standard procedures and are there more standard numbers that are used that do not pertain to my body measurements. Also, you say to draw a line and mark a certain amount of cm on it. How do you arrive at these number amounts.
I have drafted my pants and made a muslin pair. Thank you, the fit is perfect. I have never had a pair of pants that fit correctly.
Thanks, Pat
Dear Pat,
Thanks for letting me know about your success. It is always a pleasure to hear from our members.
There are some amounts that we measure and mark on the pattern that do not have any calculations associated with them. I have arrived at these numbers trough my experience in sewing and sculpting education and the study of the human anatomy, which allowed me to improve on different pattern drafting techniques.
Happy sewing,
Nehzat
