I drafted my own pants block from your video tutorials. I had to do some alteration for my full tummy :( and I followed you video tutorial for that too. I have allowed an ease of 4cm for the crotch.
I have divided the excess measurement by half for the back and front block pattern. I increased by 5.8cm on both sides.
However I find that there's some bunching in the crotch area. The back is fine.
My questions are:
1. If I reduce the slash (make it more narrow) on the front block pattern will it result in less bunching in the crotch area?
2. If so, how much do you think I should reduce by?
Merry Christmas to you and your family Nehzat!
Barbara
Thanks Nehzat.
I just got to do the alteration this evening. As you have suggested I eliminated the crotch length extension on the front pattern altogether. I unpicked the front muslin pieces from the back, recut a new muslin for the front and sewed it back to the back pieces.
Sorry for the blurry picture. Very happy about it and the fact that I have a good pants block pattern now for additional styling if required.
Thanks again.
Barbara
Wow, those pants look like they fit you great, and what a big difference from your first muslin.
Very nice!

Dear Barbara,
I can see from the picture that you have fixed the issue with the crotch length. Congratulations on your accomplishment, I am happy for your success.
Happy sewing,
Nehzat
Dear Barbara,
I believe that you have added too much to the front crotch seam line. Just as you mentioned if the back is fine you can do the following to fix the excess fabric in the front.
First make sure that the waistband is positioned where you want it to be. Then pinch and pin the excess fabric along the center front crotch seam. This way you will know exactly how much you will need to reduce the crotch seam line by. Then you can adjust your pattern accordingly.
Hope this helps,
Mary Christmas and happy new year to you and your family as well.
