I plan to try some hand rolled hems on some pocket squares and hankerchiefs. Some are silk and some cotton.
Does anyone know what weight of thread I should use? Do I need to use silk thread on the silk ones?
Thanks for any suggestions - also the rolled hem by hand lesson was OUTSTANDING... thank you.
Dear Missynomer,
It's good to hear that you liked the rolled hem lesson.
You can use silk or cotton thread to work on silk or cotton fabric. However you should use good quality thread which is smooth not stiff or fuzzy. Your thread and needle should be fine when rolling hems by hand.
You can see this video as well it can help you with your project. Why Do Single Threads Tangle Sometimes
Happy sewing
