Hello,
In the video, converting one dart into two for the front shell pattern. It says to measure the distance from the side seam to the first old dart leg,or from the side seam to the center dart, then divide by 3 to get the placement of the new added dart.
I was wondering, what would the reason be to measure from the side seam to the center dart, instead of the first outer dart leg?
Thank-you.
Veronica

Hi Veronica,
If we measure the distance from the side seam to the center of the dart, instead of the leg of the dart, the second dart will be positioned a little further from the first dart. This is not a big difference so it is up to you to decide what you would prefer.
Hope this helps,
Nehzat
